It’s no secret that fighting about money puts a huge tension in a relationship. Money is important so it best to settle such issues before things get out of hand.
Celebrity couple Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon recently revealed their tactics on handling moneyproblems in their household. He admitted that there were times that he and Maricar fight because of budgeting issues.
“‘Pag halimbawa ang mindset mo lalaki lang dapat ang naghahawak or babae ‘yung naghahawak, nawawala ‘yung opportunity na kung sinong mas magaling humawak, siya dapat ang humawak.
“I told her na ayokong ‘pag ayaw mo na sa akin, di ka aalis dahil ako ang nagbibigay ng pera. So your money is yours; my money is yours.
“I had to fight her na and say, ‘I’m going to put my foot down. Ito ‘yung linya ngayon, it has to stop or else away tayo at away ito na malaki,” Richard Poon explained.
Maricar, on the other hand, said that she has changed into a new mindset.
“I did not think about it that way, na you’re actually not helping the person you’re lending money to; you’re enabling them to continue to the bad money habit that they’re having, you’re bringing them to come to you all the time,” the actress said.
Richard also revealed how they handle investments in their family.
“Yan ang kailangang i-discuss because marriage is a union of two people being one, you’re trying to be one.
“Mayroon kaming family rule na lahat ng major purchases, kailangang agreed. ‘Pag hindi siya nag-agree sa gusto ko, hindi ko rin bibilhin,” the singer confided.
