It’s hard to come across good samaritans these days. Most people are filled with greed and hatred in their hearts, they leave people who need help unnoticed. Luckily, there are still a few people who have good souls and are willing to help people who are in need. This hospital staff member is an example of a person who went out of her way to help another person. Her story quickly went viral all over the internet.
A netizen named Aiza Montablan, from San Pablo City in Laguna, shared her encounter with a hospital staff on May 25. Aiza’s ailing grandmother needed to undergo laboratory tests when she went for a check-up at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Unfortunately, the money they brought with them wasn’t enough as it was only good for their transportation fee and doctor’s consultation fee.
Enter Rhona Laurel Arcillas, the hospital staff on duty at that time. She was the one who assisted Aiza and her grandmother for the check-up. When she heard that they didn’t bring enough money, she gave them P1,000 out of her own pocket.
Aiza was shocked while her grandmother couldn’t help but cry because of the joy she felt. At that moment, the two felt hopeful and thankful that there are still people out there with a good heart.
Aiza’s post reads:

In an online interview with PEP, Rhona shared what went through her mind during that time and why she decided to help the two women despite not knowing them personally.
She said:
How about you? Would you do the same thing Rhona did? Let us know your opinion in the comments section!
