A 23-year-old woman attempted to kill herself after meeting her online boyfriend for the first time. The incident took place on the seventh floor of a hotel room wherein the furious woman rushed to the balcony and stood her leg over, shouting “You cheated [on] me!” at her beau, police reported.
The local police tried to separate the two and got the woman off the balcony, but all of a sudden the woman shoved several sleeping pills in her mouth and attempted to cut her wrists with a broken glass. The police then stopped her and called for an ambulance to rush her to the nearest hospital.
In an interview with the woman’s mother, she shared her daughter is from Jilin province and the man was from Heilongjiang province. The now ex-couple met online and soon started dating. However, the family was against their relationship as the woman was 10 years younger than her online boyfriend. But this only pushed her to finally see her loved one in person.
Upon meeting, the woman felt dismay over her boyfriend’s real appearance. Driven from her rage, she had managed to swallow not just a handful of sleeping pills but also bits of broken glass d. She will be staying at the hospital for further observation.
Netizens were baffled and concerned with the woman’s condition. Some also expressed their concern for her parents who may have been saddened by her attempt to take her own life. One online user also humorously asked how ugly the man is considering that she tried to kill herself because of his face.
